Edgar Martinez. Say that name in Seattle and people will immediately recall a local legend. There aren't too many class acts left in professional sports these days. Edgar is an exception. From a dedicated designated hitter (now retired) to a community leader (he still lives in the area), he's definitely my favorite Mariner and my #11 jersey proves it. So I was more than excited when I found out Safeco Field was opening up a new food stand in the outfield seats.
Here are the carne asada tacos. I wish they came with more ample fillings (I went to town on the salsa bar), as there was little besides the beef and radish garnish. I will say that they were still quite good, and definitely a notch above stadium food. It may have been 12 years since the team's last post-season appearance, but perhaps a little magic from Mr. Martinez will turn the luck around. Play ball!
